About Us

Welcome!

We want to be a people who care for, welcome, and support those around us in a way that can only be inspired by God. It's our hope that people who visit our church or interact with our people walk away feeling encouraged, refreshed, and drawn closer to God. We want every man, woman, and child in our community to have the chance to experience and respond to the Gospel in action through our church.

Mark Dewbre

Mark came to Park Hill in May 2015 and serves as our Executive Pastor. He has been married to Christine Brinkerhoff for 30 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Morgan (husband Jacob Ellis) and Maddie. If it has to do with the buildings, operations, personnel, finances, and leadership issues, Mark is your go-to guy.

Garrick D. Conner

Discipleship Pastor

Garrick has served as our Discipleship Pastor since June 2009. In addition to giving oversight to our total discipleship process and programs, Garrick maintains primary responsibility for leadership development, mental health and recovery ministries, and community engagement.

Garrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Ole Miss, a Master of Arts in marriage and family counseling, a Master of Arts in Christian education, and a Doctor of Educational Ministry, all from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for more than 20 years, Garrick views the Church as a dispenser of truth and grace, as well as hope for the real-life struggles of individuals, couples, and families.

Garrick met his wife, Michelle, in seminary. They married in 1997 and have two children, Jackson, 21, and Caroline, 16 -- as well as a mixed-breed dog named Maggie, who thinks she's a person (so please don't tell her otherwise).

What We Believe

Park Hill Baptist Church is a cooperating Southern Baptist church with the following respected beliefs:
Full Statement of Beliefs

There is One God

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who subsist in unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons.

Jesus Christ is God's Son

He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven and will literally return to the earth.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error, and is the sole authority for life.

The Fall of Man

Human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.

Baptism

Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command.

Man

Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church

The church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus as the Head.
