New Series on Elijah begins Sept. 12

No one can deny that Elijah was one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament. When he spoke, the people listened. His words had impact. Boldness and courage were in the fiber of this man as he was confronted with opposition fom King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. This prophet appeared suddenly and then almost as strangely disappeared into the sky. His life and ministry made an unforgettable mark on the people and culture of his day.
Can the life and times of this prophet speak to us today? Even though he lived long ago there is so much we can take away from Elijah's life that will leave us the better. As we inspect the life and times of this ancient prophet, be ready to learn lessons about godliness, courage, prayer, and even something about God's refuge when you hurt.

VBS & Music Camp filled with laughter and learning

Park Hill held Vacation Bible School the week of July 26-30. This year for the first time, VBS was followed by Music Camp in the afternoons.
There were 293 children enrolled in VBS, with an average daily attendance of 245 kids and nearly 100 workers. The children spent the week learning that when they have questions, they can go to God for answers. The western-inspired theme of Saddle Ridge Ranch was a fun one that provided for some creative decorations.
More than 130 children participated in Music Camp. The Saddle Ridge Ranch musical was presented on Sunday, August 1. A number of spiritual decisions were made as a result of this incredible week of outreach and ministry.
The children participated in a friendly competition to raise money for the Arkansas Baptist Boys Ranch in Harrison. Through their efforts the children gave more than $1600 to this worthy cause.
Plans are already in the making for next year's VBS, which will be themed around the Big Apple -- New York City!
Satellites & Sirens in concert August 22

Park Hill welcomes Satellites & Sirens on Sunday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Our own Marty Farris will be opening for the band, and a time of fellowship with band members will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Park Hill youth serve at Salvation Army

A group of youth and adults volunteered at the Little Rock Salvation Army on Thursday, July 15. As they served meals to approximately 75 people, the volunteers got a firsthand look at some fo the struggles others experience.
Student Pastor John Cowling was moved by the experience. "It is tough to see need and desperation like homelessness or the inability to provide dinner for yourself and other family members," he said. "Being able to serve is a blessing from God, no only because we are in a position to do so but because a spiritual joy comes from it."
Through simple acts of service, Park Hill continues to strive to make a difference in our community.

Park Hill welcomes Daniel Lowery

Park Hill is glad to welcome Daniel Lowery to our discipleship team as Young Adult Ministry Associate.
Daniel grew up at Park Hill and just returned with his new wife, Haley, having graduated in May from UCA. In this new role, Daniel will be assisting the pastoral staff with ministry geared toward the 18-34 crowd, both single and married. Specifically, Daniel will be helping with Sunday School, adult discipleship and connecting, community outreach, and social media.
